Oh LAURA and ROBBIE, how do I love thee…let me count the ways. I was so honored when Laura choose me to be her photographer for her Forest House wedding next spring. She is a wedding planner for Alluring events so she had many photographers to choose from but I won ! Yay !!!! So as you can imagine the talented and creative gals at Alluring had some ideas and I had MANY ideas. Add that all t together and you have one fun filled jam packed engagement session ! We started at my studio and then had to add a bit of their favorite ice cream habit and then headed off to the stunning and unique venue Park Winters. Man alive is that place a photographers dream. This engagement session had it all ( said like Stefan from SNL ). See for yourself !
WHEWWWWW ! Alas my new web site AND new blog are alive and kicking. Can I just share that I have wanted a new web site for about 130 years now. O.K maybe closer to 4 years, but to FINALLY have it up and running is a HUGE deal for me. For years I would go in and pick my favorite photos and have 2,000 images ( I wish I was joking or exaggerating ). Reigning it in something that is not one of my strengths, I am now and forever the queen of Overkill. Alas the journey has come to a head with my new cool web site and sexy new blog. One billion thanks to Ms. Stephanie J from Honey Paperie for her unique graphic design skills and Ted Angel for pulling the whole dream together. Life is indeed GOOD !
That all being said, here is my FIRST blog post on my new BLOG ! Fitting as this couple is so special to me. Sarah and Chris made me feel so special when they called me first to see if I was open before setting their date. I photographed Sarah’s Mom’s wedding when I first went into business, and now I get to capture Sarah and Chris’s big day this fall.
We had a delightful time shooting their engagement session in Loomis starting at their HighSchool where they first met. This darling couple was just so easy breezy and effortless.
Thanks for checking out my new site and my new blog : ). I appreciate so many things in life and this is one of them !
One of the most enjoyable couples you will ever meet, Deric and Ally are just pure love personified. I positively ADORE them. Honestly, to know them is to love them. I was in heaven photographing their engagement session this past fall. We had our flow on for sure. They will wed this fall at the Monte Verde Inn and my friend and fav. D.J, Larry ( aka Care Bear ) from Extreme Productions will bring the noise, so stay tuned, more joy to follow. I am %100 thrilled to be the lucky photographer to experience more of their unique brand of sweet love !
TREAT YO SELF to one great engagement session people. I am delighted to show you Melissa and A.J’s love caught on film ( well on a digital card anyway ). These two are so very impressive, Melissa is an ‘ iron woman ‘ and A.J is a photographer, add in many more cool things about these two and you end up with one of the neatest couples on earth. I am THRILLED to be shooting their wedding at the Citizen Hotel next summer. I do want to chatter on and on but by now I know the drill, make with the photos lady !
MORE PHOTOS YOU DEMAND ? Here you go, just click HERE to see their slideshow : )
And fun fact, Melissa had my beloved Shana Beals do her hair for the engagement session ( and she will have her for the wedding of course ) and she was lucky enough to snag Shannon from Flourish for the big day. The dream team is in the house.
Happy, fun and full of life and light, this couple stole my heart ! Chonnie and Janoah ( or Cho-nono and Ja-nono ) were a dream to photograph. She is a wrapper and he is a musician, together they are rock star subjects. I LOVED her idea to end their session in front of the Crest theatre with their names on the marque ! How fun right. These two are getting married this Oct. at the Serrano Country Club and I get to be their photographer ( don’t hate me cause you ain’t me for this one ).
So crazy, sexy, cool right ?
Yes those are shards of glass they are laying on : )
OH how Mama likes ! Such a cute engagement session. We had a blast. Beautiful and vivacious Kacee is going to marry super cute and completely adorable Micah next January at my beloved Citizen Hotel. Since they are going to get the cool urban feel for the wedding she opted for the sunny country feel of her childhood home for their engagement session. They love to cook hence their fun save the date idea. A big thanks to my much appreciated college intern Carrie for helping me out for this shoot, she is graduating this May from Sacramento State College and I am very proud of her.
Here is their love in photos :
Um…the cutest !
Kacee said I could put the ‘ I do ‘ stuff anywhere except on their faces. LOL.
I CRAZY love this one !
Oh I can dig up some engagement sessions and weddings that have never seen the light of day in the winter alright : ) Having been told ‘ if you have a blog you have to blog ‘ by Sarah Maren herself, I am digging up an older sessions for your viewing pleasure.
This was one of the coolest engagement sessions I did all year. Suzanne and Mike were married at this rice farm and I was delighted to do their engagement session in this location as well. Oh so many places to photograph, I was like a kid in a candy store. Please enjoy the rural beauty and this couples obvious love :
Suzanne had such an easy laugh, I positively adored her !
Now if I remember right this was an almond orchard, oh my how I could have shot here for HOURS on end.
Mike was so good hearted, he sure put up with a lot of my poses that day….
Please note the photo to the right where they appear to be in a shed full of mallords. Mike just about had enough of my antics at this point.
You’d be hard pressed to find a cuter couple than Joaquin ( nickname Keeny which is a shorter version of his first nickname Joaquiny bikini ) and Heather. Such a classy, kind, warm, cute and down to earth couple. I truly LOVE them ! I LOVE how they were so comfortable with each other during our fun session at ST. Rose, the school where Joaquin works. Together they often venture out in the world to help others. These two are dear to my heart as we would run into each other through the years and each time they would introduce themselves and tell me when it was time I would be their wedding photographer. Cute right ! Also Joaquin is one of my 37 blog readers so here you go Keeny, its all you !
I LOVE this image, heather….she’s so hot right now.
I LOVE her ring, go heather.
Not really, because Andy is a fictional character, but the DID both go to Cornell. That is how Jim and Lenora found each other in fact, a Cornell alumni re-union. Jim took one look at her and knew she was something special. I would have to concur ! She is a doctor as well as a dream subject ! These two are made for each other so taking their photos at the Crocker Art Museum no less was a photographers dream job.
They are getting married at the Crocker Art Museum this October, and just when you think it could not get ANY better…. they have the super talented Aime Wendal of 2 Chic Events and Designs as their planner/designer . DRIPPING IN AWESOME SAUSE RIGHT ?
A MONDO thanks to Cindy and Kathleen at the Crocker for letting us shoot in their MAGNIFECNT museum. It was dreamy !
AGAIN, sooooo fortunate to shoot in such a cool spot ! A BIG thanks to the folks at the Crocker Art Museum.
Now THAT is happy people !
My dear friend and fellow photographer Thais Shiediman ( aka Thai-bo ) told me this was one of her all time favorites, now that is indeed a compliment !
Jim and Lenora told me they are more on the conservative side, but I had to add just the slightest bit of funk to the mix. Lenora’s toes just looked SO cute !
I personally would have this one the save the date photo : )
INCREDIBLY FUN FACT: I shot took some modeling portfolio shots of Jim many years ago. Yes he DEFIANTLY had the hot fashion model thing going, but Lenora really held her own during the session.
photos with heart and soul
