Oh I can dig up some engagement sessions and weddings that have never seen the light of day in the winter alright : ) Having been told ‘ if you have a blog you have to blog ‘ by Sarah Maren herself, I am digging up an older sessions for your viewing pleasure.
This was one of the coolest engagement sessions I did all year. Suzanne and Mike were married at this rice farm and I was delighted to do their engagement session in this location as well. Oh so many places to photograph, I was like a kid in a candy store. Please enjoy the rural beauty and this couples obvious love :
Suzanne had such an easy laugh, I positively adored her !
Now if I remember right this was an almond orchard, oh my how I could have shot here for HOURS on end.
Mike was so good hearted, he sure put up with a lot of my poses that day….
Please note the photo to the right where they appear to be in a shed full of mallords. Mike just about had enough of my antics at this point.
That was what Jake of Lesley and Jake told us at one point as Lesley and I were in this huge post wedding love fest. Funny ! We just had endless, “no I love you” e-mails. Thinking about it warms my soul. A special day indeed, one could feel the love between these two. It felt like they were both just so very grateful to have found each other. Jake was as good as it get in the groom department, and Lesley had a way of making everyone around her feel joyful and relaxed. How deep is my love ? DEEP !
So why do I blubber on and on about my favorite vendors ? Because this can be a really stressful day at times and having your favorite peeps around really makes for a happy couple, and a happy couple makes for awesome photos. A win win ! So that is why I will rave about Larry from Extreme ( deep love ) and how he makes an event AWESOME, and how Shannon from Flourish makes the whole day more beautiful with her arty flowers, and what a great job the folks at the Citizen Hotel do making sure everything runs smoothly and the couple feels well taken care ( run on sentence much ? ).
I heart the Goveners suite at the Citizen Hotel.
Lesley gasping at delight upon seeing her flowers from Flourish.
I love this moment of Leslie with her favorite auntie. Awesome shot by Francisco who I nicknamed Ricardo and call him that so much I often forget that is not his real name.
Shannon sure makes pretty flowers !
These are the moments I love the most !
I love this photo !
One view of this shot…
And the second view here : )
Fun Fact : Here is an example of said love notes after posting this blog post on Lesley’s facebook page:
I am ready to revive our love notes now : )
If I had nickle for every time a person said to Travis ” you are so lucky to have a girl like Samara ” I would have cleared 30 cents easy. I was included in the people saying how Lucky Travis was to have Samara. She was as beautiful inside as she was out. This couple was pure delight thought the entire wedding relationship. My fondest memories were during the ceremony, it so heartfelt and vivacious. Samara was also a smart cookie who choose some awesome vendors to make her day AWESOME. I LOVE working at the Hyatt Hotel , adore her talented make-up artist Christi Reynolds ( she is one of the best in the area ) and greatly admire her baker, the one and only Sweet Cakes by Rebecca. Also her D. J was INCREDIBLE. Super lighting as well as a unique wedding experience. Much thanks to Behind the Scene Sounds for making their evening so memorable. And lest we not forget who did her BEAUTIFUL flowers, one of my favorite florists Visual Impact. Life is good and so was this wedding !
Did I mention Samara was STUNNING ?
I heart Visual Imact !
I love this shot by my second shooter Michelle. Love you Shifty !
This photo as well as several others from this wedding are in this months OUR WEDDING magazine. This guy was so good, I thought it was a recording at first.
Dear Sweet Cakes by Rebecca, I love you ! Sincerely, Beth B.
There were several of the cake photos that were so funny, here is just one : )
Also soooooooooo many great dancing photos !
This was one of my first engagement session’s of 2012 and it RULED. Usually I steer couples away from a winter engagement session as the weather is so unpredictable, but this year we are getting sunny day after sunny day so BONUS for this engagement session. Jennifer and Scott are getting married at the Firehouse this summer and I get to capture their big day ! Lucky !
It is not possible for me to love this couple more, I especially loved Jennifer’s big laugh and sharp wit and Scott’s charm and sophistication. Here is how we captured their love starting at their downtown Sacramento apartment on this particularly beautiful day :
My foray into being a paparazzi photographer was at the 2011 California Hall of Fame induction this year for Sacramento Magazine. So very exciting shooting celebs next to many of my fellow photographers. I was a bit star struck when I saw Robe Lowe. Instantly I was a 13 year old girl admiring him Justin Beeber groupie style. As he walked by I screamed ” Rob, I LOVED your book “, he stopped and acknowledged me for what seemed like an eternity and said ” who paid you to say that ” ? In my mind that was just like making out : ) I am a huge Rob Lowe fan and actually did read his book and loved it. His character on the show Parks and Recreation is one of my favorites !
I could have shot this for hours on end, the swing dancers at Veterans Salute Dance Party had mad skills. Loved watching them and shooting them ! The band The Jive Aces was incredible. Here is the one the ran in Sacramento Magazine for the ” Big Picture ” spread this month.
And as I am still super overkill in 2012, here are tons more of my favorite photos from my recent work in my beloved Sacramento Magazine : )
THANKS FOR TUNING IN !
This is my second time photographing Clint Eastwood, he was SO nice both times. Really an awesome guy !
Clint’s wife cracking up : )
Aldridge the O.G astronaut.
I am a HUGE fan of Lisa Ling ! Also SO nice !
That is Brenna Hamilton in the cute black and white skirt, she put this whole Sindig together. Her Skirt is a circus theme as she called it a ‘ media circus ‘. Fun fact, I shot her wedding oh so many years ago.
The beach boys. Awesome right.
The most excellent shot ever : ) This last one is of my beloved Kristen and Brian at the Citizen Hotel for the last issue of Sacramento Magazine ‘ great nights out’. I LOVE these kids and I LOVE the Citizen hotel. Total win win right : )
photos with heart and soul
