In case you are wondering why the sudden loyal blogging, well I accepted a blog challenge to blog every week lest I loose $100 and that is NOT going to happen. Great way to show my recent work and express my love and gratitude for my beloved wedding couples. I loved this wedding so very much. Kyla and Patrick were the bees knees of wedding couples. Their beautiful and classy wedding had so many fabulous elements such as my favorite gals at Alluring events ( they were so so awesome ), the arty historic Crocker Art Museum and the extremely hip Beatnik venue, the sweetest and best make-up gals at All Dolled Up and the truly talented Botanica floral. And we were lucky enough to get that delicious winter sun. Yay yay double yay for all of the beauty and love involved. Enough words, photos please.
Three cheers to this Brillant ( yes they both have PHD’s ) couple and their BEAUTIFUL wedding at the Crocker Art Museum. I was thrilled to be chosen to shoot Cynthia and Andrew’s wedding especially when I heard the one and only Kate Whelan Events would be their event designer. And one of my favorite Masters of Ceremony S.J’s DJ would be running the show and Rev. Tan ( I am a fan ) rocking the ceremony. All fabulous things. But wait, don’t order yet as we had my beloved Lea from BGorgeous doing the hair and make-up and the talented Melissa designing her flowers. Winning. This couple was pure delight from the get go, I loved how they were so relaxed and easy going throughout the entire day. And I loved how the bride texted me the next day and told me I was a badass. Mama likes indeed.
ALAS A BLOG POST ! YAY ! And what a beautiful and unique wedding to blog about. Tova and Don were able to strike a wonderful balance blending the Orthodox Jewish traditions with their Modern love needs. One of my favorite parts of being a photographer is getting to experience so many different cultural events and this wedding was one of my favorites. Tova and Don really pulled off an amazing day incorporating many of the Jewish Traditions and still having it their way. I loved how casual and easy going this couple was, they were focused on the feelings and being in the moment. I am so thankful I was able to enjoy and capture this fabulous event. Here are a few things I LOVED about this wedding: The Crocker ! Come on, it does not get much better than The Crocker. Art and Beauty every where you look, and to add coolness to coolness, they got ready at the Citizen Hotel ! A visual feast of sorts. And of course add Kate Whelan Events ( A.K.A K-way ) to the mix and you are sure to have one well organized and beautiful event. On of my all time favorite florists, Shannon ( A.K.A Sha-nona Rider ) from Flourish worked her usual magic as you can see and LeiLani and her team ( A.K.A Lay-low and Stitch ) at Hello Glam sure glammed it up in the most perfect way as well as staring the day with some fun and lively energy. One MONDO thanks for one Wendy Hithe Photography (A.K.A The GINGER photographer ) for shooting with me on this wedding, yes…I brought in a ringer for this one. O.K no more words, only photos from here on out !
I did not want to waste ANY time in getting to part two of this double ceremony wedding. Part two was at The Crocker Art Museum ( a.k.a any photographers dream location ). After the Sikh ceremony we had a quick break and then it was onto the beautiful classic Jewish ceremony. The love between these two is so apparent for all to see. My favorite part of any wedding day is capturing the joy on the faces of the couple as well as their friends and family. Again my treasured Aimee Wendal from 2CHIC Events and Design truly pulled this 2 ceremony wedding day together like a boss. Together with one of my favorite folks, Bryan from Music and More and our darling florist Accents by Sage, this event was a slam dunk. And of course the folks at The Crocker ROCK. One more thanks to J&B for letting me be a part of this wonderful occasion.
Again mondo thanks to my friends P.J and Sarah T. for shooting this wedding with me, together we were a well oiled machine.
Fun Fact: The groom had a twin brother that was so identical, it was often hard to keep tell them apart. But I only got them confused once : )
A bit of recent work printed in Sacramento Magazine to feed the hungry blog : ). I have said 423 times how much I love and appreciate shooting various assignments. Partly because I am noisy and love getting a glimpse into folks lives, and partly because I love the challenge of finding nailing just the right photo.
Note the flowers from Shannon ‘Totes Mc Goats’ from Flourish, her milk shake truly does bring all the boys to the yard. Great table shot from The Citizen Hotel, such a beautiful room.
My adorable bride Sara who was married at The Crocker Art Museum this past summer getting some lovin’ : )
FUN FUN FUN at karaoke at Oishii, I want to go back there
soon. It is such a unique venue.
I love it, they call her the ‘menu whisperer’.
This was a ‘why you gotta bring up old stuff’ shot we did of the band Desario a few years back. Desario is the gem of Sacramento. Jim Rivas, band member extraordinaire, is a friend and husband of our very own, again Shannon from Flourish ( name dropping like crazy over here ).
And Lastly, this image snagged ‘The big picture’ spot in the magazine. This was from the Christmas concert from the kids at St. Patricks Academy, completely adorable, this concert really reminded me of what Christmas is all about. So very touching.
Sarah and Jack were such a class act ! Everything about this couple was lovely. So sincere and kind and their families were just amazing. I was so honored to be their wedding photographer at our very own photographers dream location, the Crocker Art Museum. Some of my favorite people helped to make the day perfect including one of my all time favorite make-up artists Shana Beals Make-up Artistry . Also in the mix, the talented and creative Vicki from Bella Blooms, super fun Tom Fretwell from Fretty’s D.j and culinary delights from The Supper club. Yes I could gush for a few more lines, but again I know you are not checking out my blog to languish in my literary talents.
I love her soft make-up from my pal Shana Beals.
WOW, what a beautiful place for a ceremony right. Just stunning.
