Monica and Ryan, dream couple of all times. Monica was bursting with ideas for her engagement session. Dig her modern Breakfast at Tiffanies theme and a nod to Lady and the tramp with them both eating a licorice rope. They love everything related to comic books and are the ultimate movie buffs.I LOVED them and could have shot them for hours and hours. They are getting married this year at the Citizen Hotel and I for one can not wait to capture all of the fun. As you can see they are a blast !
A fun bright colorful super hero themed birthday party ? YES PLEASE !! One of my favorite parts of my job is to be able to capture events of all kinds. This birthday party did not disappoint ! With a magic show, face painting, a balloon artist, character drawing, games of all kinds and all manor of sugary treats. KMK designs rocked this event with their attention to every detail. Beautiful little Amrita had a day she will now remember with these jamming photos:
Yay for the blogging of Jen and Ken !! Right out of the gate just their names together are pretty cute. They had cuteness as well as many other attributes in spades. Their outdoor ceremony at Capital Park took my breath away when during the ceremony I looked at the back of my camera and saw a wide shot with our stunning capital in the background. As you can see getting those heartfelt expressions is my main passion at any wedding, and while editing this wedding I was giving 5 star rating after 5 star rating. Jen and Ken had the whole ‘officer of the law’ thing going as well as just a general peaceful easy feeling that made everyone relax and have the best time ever. After the ceremony it was over to the Historic Masonic Temple where we were treated to the good energy and D.J stylings of one Matt from Extreme Pro D.J’s. I could write a short novel about how much I LOVE Extreme Pro D.J’s ! And she was also smart enough to score Visual Impact as her florist. They nail it every time. Ahhhh less words and more photos right !
Weddings can be stressful for kids…
Ahhhh Kelly and Erin they did know that it was much more than a hunch. Man alive are these ladies in LOVE. Their love for each other fills up the entire room with joy. They are quite possibly one of the happiest couples I have ever had the good fortune to photograph. And now that they are afforded equal rights they will be blending their families this coming April at Scott’s Seafood / The Westin. I for one can not wait !
Fun Fact, Erin posted the first photo below on a Facebook page with the title ‘ sometimes moms marry moms…get over it’ and it got almost 8,000 likes. I was over the moon at 2,000 but those likes just kept on coming. I was practically George Takei ( you have to be pretty Facebook-y to get that referance ). Here are just a some of their engagement photos showing their love and Brady Bunch-esque blended family.
I am not sure why I had them posing like this ?
I love a backyard wedding I do I do ! And Mindy and Jerrad’s was one of the best ! These two were so very easy going and very much in LOVE. I was thrilled when they choose me to capture their big day. Their home off the Sacramento river was ideal for this late September wedding. Luckily they snagged Karen from An Impressive Event. That woman worked HARD to put everything together just right. Also they got an EXTREMELY awesome D.J with Kevin from Extreme pro D.J’s. I also truly enjoyed working with the X-Sight Video crew. They were so full of life and fun to be around. The setting was ideal, with the late September weather being very cooperative and the moonlight doing its part, the serious moonlight.
Mama likes !
This is one of my favorite guy walking photos everrrrrr !
Such a lovely evening under the stars and moon light with some market lighting to set the mood. YUMMIE !
O.K maybe not the worlds longest blog post, but a long one for sure. This was a gem of a wedding from last year, and yes I do ‘gotta bring up old stuff’ now and again. This was a last minute booking that I was thrilled to get. This couple had a marathon wedding day all planned by the one and only Aimee Wendle of 2Chic Events. Aimee is my home-slice and a gifted planner and designer.
The first part of the day was a beautiful Sikh ceremony at The Sikh Temple of Sacramento. I learned so many interesting things about the Sikh culture and truly enjoyed this unique ceremony. If it seems like I am not even mentioning this fabulous couple it is because they really value their privacy. So we will call them J&B : ). I LOVED J&B and am forever grateful they choose me to be a part of their whirlwind day. This was ceremony #1, stay tuned for ceremony # 2, a classic Jewish Ceremony at The Crocker Art Museum. So much culture, love and beauty in just a short 14 hour day : )
Please insert one MILLION thanks to my beloved Sarah Maren for coming to shoot this ceremony with me ON HER ANNIVERSARY. For this big gig, I got by with a BIG help from my friends.
WHEWWWWW ! Alas my new web site AND new blog are alive and kicking. Can I just share that I have wanted a new web site for about 130 years now. O.K maybe closer to 4 years, but to FINALLY have it up and running is a HUGE deal for me. For years I would go in and pick my favorite photos and have 2,000 images ( I wish I was joking or exaggerating ). Reigning it in something that is not one of my strengths, I am now and forever the queen of Overkill. Alas the journey has come to a head with my new cool web site and sexy new blog. One billion thanks to Ms. Stephanie J from Honey Paperie for her unique graphic design skills and Ted Angel for pulling the whole dream together. Life is indeed GOOD !
That all being said, here is my FIRST blog post on my new BLOG ! Fitting as this couple is so special to me. Sarah and Chris made me feel so special when they called me first to see if I was open before setting their date. I photographed Sarah’s Mom’s wedding when I first went into business, and now I get to capture Sarah and Chris’s big day this fall.
We had a delightful time shooting their engagement session in Loomis starting at their HighSchool where they first met. This darling couple was just so easy breezy and effortless.
Thanks for checking out my new site and my new blog : ). I appreciate so many things in life and this is one of them !
I have LITERALLY been waiting to blog about this couple for YEARS ! REALLY ! I will try not get too mushy here, but I need you to know my LOVE for this couple runs DEEP.
My first memory of them was …love in an elevator. I was heading up in the Citizen Hotel elevator, when Joaquin and Heather introduced themselves. They told me I had done a few of their friends weddings and soon enough I would be doing their wedding. Naturally I was VERY flattered. And indeed I was the lucky photographer to capture their unique love story. They were married at St. Ignatius Church and had their reception at The Sacramento Grand Ballroom. Positively fabulous food from our friends at The Supper Club, and a truly delicious dessert buffet from Ettores ( I can still remember how much we enjoyed those treats ). It was oddly an overcast day in Aug, but not to worry, we worked it out like nobodies business with some unique fun and funky photos.
I was so touched by this couples love for each other and kindness towards everyone else…I am getting a bit misty so here are the photos, talk amongst yourselves.
Yeah, note, this couple was ” sort of a big deal ” with their large amount of higher up clergy : )
FUN FACT : They are both quite the musicians, and sang to EACH OTHER during the ceremony. Not a dry eye in the house people !
Think pink people. I have been jonesin to post these vibrant, happy happy joy joy and oh so PINK and colorful photos of Chonnie and Janoah ( Cha-no no and Ja no-no if you were needing their nicknames any time soon ). This wedding was a slam dunk with all its ‘bling bling’, loads of happy people and a couple MADLY in love with each other. I LOVED working with Joe from Extreme Productions, the sunset and view at Serrano Country Club, and of course this fun, vivacious and full of life couple. And yes… the DID have a bridal party of 20 people. The more the merrier for Chojo ( great celebrity name mash up right ). Please to drink the pink folks :
I love these behind the scenes shot my treasured second shooter get, go Michelle’s bells !
Serranno Country Club sure has a lot of great backdrops, we were in photographers heaven !
One of my favorite photos of all time : )
FUN FACT: Chonnie is a wrapper and did a full on song to her husband at their reception. It brought down the house : )

TREAT YO SELF to one great engagement session people. I am delighted to show you Melissa and A.J’s love caught on film ( well on a digital card anyway ). These two are so very impressive, Melissa is an ‘ iron woman ‘ and A.J is a photographer, add in many more cool things about these two and you end up with one of the neatest couples on earth. I am THRILLED to be shooting their wedding at the Citizen Hotel next summer. I do want to chatter on and on but by now I know the drill, make with the photos lady !
MORE PHOTOS YOU DEMAND ? Here you go, just click HERE to see their slideshow : )
And fun fact, Melissa had my beloved Shana Beals do her hair for the engagement session ( and she will have her for the wedding of course ) and she was lucky enough to snag Shannon from Flourish for the big day. The dream team is in the house.
photos with heart and soul
