It is true, once you go Little Black Book there is no turning back. DOUBLE WHOOT. We are on Style me Pretty’s Little Black Book ! This is such a thrill. Great job EVERYONE ! I Could post my usual 45 images and rave for a solid 45 minutes on how I love each vendor so deeply, but Style Me pretty already did the work for me and I have a shoot in 20 minutes and still need to eat lunch ( over sharing ? YES ! ) Plus there is a slideshow with TONS more images if you can not get enough of Lenora and Jim : )
So here is the link to our feature:

And My super cool Slideshow :
YES, you heard it right ! Well maybe after seeing Erin and Theron’s ( or as I quickly nicknamed him ‘THE’ ) super hot trendy engagement sessions with zombies, it will be all the rage. Just to make it clear, if anyone needs a zombie photographer… I am the one to see. AHHHHH !!!!! This was one of those time when I thought to myself….and I get paid to do this. So much fun. I LOVED Erin and ‘ THE ‘, they were dream couple. They are getting married in may 2012 and the Vizcaya. Erin has many more cool things planned, I for one can not wait !
I am goo goo ga ga for this photo of Erin !
‘ THE’ looking SO cute !
I had to sort of ease you into the zombies.
A little levity amongst zombies.
Just a little bit of ‘ bunnies and kittens’
Next stop zombie town !
WENDY AND CARRIE ARE ON ‘ SO YOUR enGAYged ‘ blog TODAY. And, well every other Gay blog out there. Not knowing the ways of the blog I submitted it to every gay blog and it was accepted by…every one. My poor ladies having to fill out oh so many questionnaires ( sorry ).
Where to begin to speak of Wendy and Carrie ? Their love for each other and their family touched my soul. The fact that they are not given equal rights breaks my heart. But these two were not about wallowing in the in-justice, they were about celebrating their love for each other with all of their family and friends.
The dream team was the house ! Lora Ward from A Day to Remember planned the wedding like nobodies business, Matt from Extreme Pro D.J’s made the party Extremely awesome and Carissa from Sugar and Spice Speciality Desserts kept everyone in a delicious sugar high. The wedding was at the Citizen Hotel so we had an abundance of amazing places to shoot. Truly a memorable event !
I brought along my own dream team Andrea and Shannon to help me with this special day. Two brides need a lot of coverage people, I am so very thankful for my friends help !!!!
We were all so touched by the way Wendy and Carrie insisted we eat with their guests, we had the most delicious meal that we were talking about several days later. That is just how these ladies roll, a class act !
Awesome expressions ( my favorite part of any wedding ) were abundant on this special day.
I heart shooting at the Citizen Hotel sooooooooo much. Man alive are there loads of great spots.
Wendy walking their children down the isle, priceless !
Photographers LOVE up-lighting !
Of course as the photographer I was required to eat each of these treats after photographing them…. I was just doing my job people.
This photo was on MSMBC !
FUN FACT: Wendy is ‘ sort of a big deal’ in the gay community as an advocate for equal rights. I told these ladies when they are granted the right to marry like everyone else I will be there shooting their legal marriage as well.
SO MUCH LOVE AND LUCK IN THE HOUSE for my first wedding of 2011 ( YES, I DO have more 2010 weddings to blog, I am still milking them ). Gina and Rhett were so obviously made for each other, what an honor to capture their special day !
Just so many delicious ingredients for the valentines days wedding ! Gina, a remarkable girl, is so full of life and spunk AND A DOCTOR to boot. The minute I met her I desperately wanted to shoot her wedding. Add her now husband, Rhett to the mix and it was just the ideal wedding. These two had one of the BEST venues, The Citizen Hotel, one of the VERY BEST coordinators, the lovely and talented Lora Ward from A DAY TO REMEMBER. Matt Bryce from Extreme Productions did the lighting ( love ) , D.j -ing and was their officiant ( and coat check guy and he was a mid-wife to 3 children born that night…kidding ). I loves me some Matt Bryce, thats all I’m sayin’. And if things could not have gotten any better, Katie from Ambience made the day most beautiful with her flowers. But wait…don’t order yet, because we also got mr. sun shining his face to make our light oh so yummie and I was able to bring Carmen to shoot the wedding with me. Carmen is such a cool gal as well as a very talented photographer. I could go on and on, but suffice to say…MAMA LIKES :
Just Endless places to shoot in an around the Citizen Hotel, really a photographers dream location.
Yes…the alley can be a bit ‘pungent’ at times : )
How cute is Rhett. Just sheer delight to work with !
I LOVE this shot Carmen got of Gina reading her vows before the ceremony. Priceless !
Dig at the expression on Matt’s face !
I LOVE this photo !!!
The dance floor was so packed the guest were literally dancing all over the place.
FUN FACT: MY last wedding of last year and first wedding of this year was at the Citizen Hotel with Lora and Matt, dare I be so bold to say ‘ The dream team was in the house’.
YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMY FOOD ! Not only did I get to photograph these culinary delights, I got to EAT THEM after the shoot as they packed everything up for me and sent me home with a harvest of tremendously delicious food. Terri Gilliland, owner of the restaurants Roxy and Lucca is my dear friends so I have had the honor of doing many photo sessions for the two restaurants. You would be hard pressed to find more lovely people than Terri Gilliland and her husband Ron. Both Roxy and Lucca are such incredible places to dine, whenever I have an out of town guest, that is where I choose to take them to show off the cuisine of our fair city. I would not decribe myself as an expert food photographer, but I was very pleased with these images. And trust me, the FOOD WAS FANTASTIC :
A quick backstory….Brad is my boyfriend, Stephanie is Brad’s sister, making her my sister-in-law. She married Dave Johnson when she was 18 years old and they were married for 20 years, then they took a bit of a break…and then they got married AGAIN this past fall in Clarksburg. I loved how their wedding invite was titled ‘ taking a mulligan’. Stephanie often told me how disappointed she was with her first wedding’s photos, so this time around, we hooked it up ! There are so many cool places to go in Clarksburg we went a bit crazy shooting some rad photos! Since I love Stephanie and Dave so much this was one of the most fun photo sessions of the year. Of course my cute boyfriend Brad helped me the whole time and even found locations that were pretty amazing. Go BRAD ( check out the big brain on Brad ).
If there was ever a family that you would want to be a part of it is the Haynes family. Just some of the best people on earth. I LOVE this family and feel so very fortunate to be a part of the Haynes/ Johnson clan. Stephanie and Dave had the cutest, most intimate wedding in their backyard with their 3 girls by their side. My favorite, Rev. Jeri Murphy officiated and brought her unique warmth to the whole event. Very relaxed and filled with true love, their wedding was just perfect !
Um, are you KIDDING ME with this turned over tree. Man alive I was in heaven
This is one of my favorite photos EVERRRRRRR. WHAT A GIFT !
Love this ‘road less traveled : )
Stunning, mama soooo likes !
How cute is my boyfriend ? ( answer….cute )
I LOVE this moment during there ceremony, seeing Stephanie so very happy warmed my heart.
Two more people I love dearly
YAYYYYYY ! THIS wedding is on STYLE ME PRETTY wedding blog. Wow-sers is that cool. I would love to take credit for the wedding getting on Style me pretty, but really it was ALL ROZ. She is positively the coolest girl ever. I would joke with the other vendors ‘what does a person have to do in another life to be born Roz, how many leapers does one have to feed ?’ Her Stunning good looks paled in comparison to her warm and loving personality. And just when you thought you would never meet a person as cool, in comes Kyle. They were just the PERFECT couple. She had soooooo many ideas and did soooooo many cool details, she was a shoe in to be on Style me Pretty.
I WISH I could tell you Roz and Kyle’s wedding was all sunshine and lolli-pops, but actually it rained BUCKETS ! Just NON-STOP rain. Roz and Kyle REFUSED to let it get them down. They had their dream wedding rain and all. What was one of the most memorable parts was how their vendors really pulled together. I could go ON AND ON about each vendors but suffice to say, ALL SEASONS ALL REASON rocked the food, Visual Impact did a stunning job with the flowers, Mike Jensen of Jensen wedding Films was terrific as usual, Carrell and Marjorie of the Coloma Country Inn and INNCREDIBLE EVENTS were……incredible, LOVE YOU LADIES. And my beloved Mike Regan from MR. D.J Service tore it up on the dance floor. Mike I am your biggest fan. Together we created magic !
The Coloma Country Inn had loads of these cute details. Just the most darling venue ever.
See why we loved Roz ! Who carves a pumpkin like that ? Answer : Roz
Please note : We were shooting this in the FULL RAIN ! Go Roz !
My boyfriend, Brad Haynes LOVED the photo of Roz making the face : )
This was one of my favorite shots of the day.
Note the dogs tail.
Another one of my favs.
I literally gasp when I saw this photo. Mama likes !!!
EVERYONE LOVED LOVED LOVED LINDA, Roz’s mom was a special lady !
So much crazy cool happy joy fun on the dance floor. I heart Mike Regan of Mr. D.J Service, you make any wedding you are at FUN.
LONG POST…sorry : ) One more shout out to my treasured Second shooter Michelle Shiftlet for her un-wavering support and great photos on this most wet day.
Here is their SLIDESHOW if you need to see more, or want to see more : )
TOUCHING STORY: ( instead of fun fact ) Roz’s mom Linda was such a character and loved by all of her vendors. She told me that she drove herself to the hospital to give birth to Roz and drove herself home. They had this beautiful mother daughter bond that touched my heart.
UPDATE: Roz and Kyle are now internationally known and their known the rock the microphone ( sorry, any excuse to use that line ). A Dutch blog is all about them now. Roz and Kyle….they are so hot right now :
check out TROUWBLOG
Dave and Courtney shine with yummie love and goodness. Having shot Dave’s sister’s wedding as well as several of their friends weddings, I am honored to be the ‘family photographer’. Dave and Courtney are just about as cute as humanly possible as well as kind, fun and crazy in love. We had such a great time with their engagement session this summer. They will be married this spring at the Croation Cultural Center with Larry from Extreme Pro D.j’s ( I am his biggest fan )
Good times !
If you have not guessed, Dave is a firefighter.
I am a tiny bit obsessed with this photo : )
Fun fact: I was locked out of my blog for a few weeks and when I was finally able to get back in I had 1,596 spam comments. So if anyone is looking to get a mail order bride, I have several leads.
O.k TRUE STORY, I was BOOKED SOLID for this september. My plate was full and I was not going to take on one more wedding…then came Angi. I just fell in love with this girl right off the bat. She was such a happy joyful person, filled with life and love. Our first meeting was a slam dunk ! Angi’s fiancee James not only had movie star good looks, but was also delightful.
They were the most enjoyable couple to work throughout the day. Their wedding at Lake Natomas Inn was beautiful, Angi did a bang up job with the design. One of the best parts was…I GOT TO WORK WITH EXTREME PRODUCTIONS. They are one of my all time favorites. Dominic from Extreme puts his heart and soul into every wedding. My friends at V.I.P CAT did the the make-up, as I have said many times…love them, love their show. It sure does make my job easier to work with the top professional in the area.
Love this wedding, love this couple, love my life:
These photos have made me laugh out loud on more than one occation. FUNNY !!!!!
Dig that skateboarder ? A group of skater kids were doing tricks right by us and one agreed to skate by for this shot. That hill was STEEP too !
Oh how I LOVE the big ‘monkey laugh’.
THANKS FOR THE BIG PUFFY CLOUDS !
FUN FACT: Angi is the principle of an elementary school
