Monica and Ryan voted most darling photogenic couple on earth! Boom, one fabulous first wedding of 2016, yes please and thank you. We LOVED this couple so much, they were bursting with fun and vibrant energy and they loved photos. We packed in every photo possible. The Citizen Hotel rocked as usual, we heart Melissa from All Dolled Up and adore everything about Visual Impact and their beautiful work. I am as usual so thankful to be able to document these special occations, for such an amazing venue and for my freaking AWESOME second shooter Sarah Torres. Yup, life IS good indeed.
For this couple, pretty freaking DEEP !! Eugene and Gliezel have me totally smitten. They love photos ( which in my business is a very good thing ) so they had me do their ‘save the date’ photos. The clouds were looming but luckily they let up for this oh so happy spring session. It was just perfect ! I want to insert 3 or 4 more love song titles but enough already.
Blog post title from one of my all time favorite shows 30 Rock:
So, sometimes I even annoy myself with my Pollyanna, blessed beyond my wildest dreams, life is good indeed self. That being said, here goes another rant about how blessed I am and how good life truly is… o.k I can spare you the rant and just post a ton of my commercial and portrait work favorites and we can call it a day. Deal ? From Bellies to boobies to babies, events, families, headshots, body builders to boxers, this gal does a wide array of work. Here are a few, o.k ALOT of favs:
What do I LOVE about doing an engagement session you ask ? Well it is first and foremost capturing a couples energy and essence. I want the images to feel like ‘them’. Then of course I love showing just how cool and beautiful our City of Trees truly can be. It is no secret that I am a huge ‘Sacramento’ fan, I LOVE it here and think it is the best place to live ever. We have it all here with a thriving city and pristine parks. I love working with the light, the colors and architecture. Adding all of the elements to one session and giving a lot of variety. Kolby and Nick sure did bring the perfect cheer for their engagement session and we were able to use all of the elements I LOVE. These two were as good as it gets as you can see by checking out the photos : )
Engagement session are one of my favorite gigs. I love being able to do ‘ all the things ‘ our beautiful and vibrant city has to offer and capturing the couples essence. This Engagement session was one of those times. Kyla and Patrick were simply the best. Coffee lovers and madly in love, we were smitten with them from the go get. They will be married NEXT WEEKEND at The Crocker Art Museum ( yay ) and my friends at Alluring events will be there to keep it all together. Stay tuned for part two of this happy couple when we get to show off their wedding photos. Whoot !!!!
That thing when you get to do a group of gals wedding and you get to see them at each others weddings supporting each other. I LOVE this group of super cool gals and was THRILLED to be doing Savannah and Patricks wedding at The Croatian Center this past September. They were the sweetest couple, with the most fun wedding. I felt so at ease during the family photos as I had done Patricks sisters wedding. You sure can feel the love tonight and it was great to see the couples I had photographed in the past still standing ( on a roll there with song titles ). rump
I am coming out of the Dinosaur closet with this wedding to officially state my love of all things Dinos ! What was so funny to me when I did Ellie’s boudoir photos and I requested that she bring a few Dinosaurs as this was her theme, I actually had my own dinos ready in case she forgot. This wedding was a GEM and one of my favorites. Ellie and Spike ( Yes, SPIKE ! And Spike has a PHD ) were my dream couple. Kendra Pfeiffer from Pfeiffer Events assembled a dream team for this Fire House wedding. With my bestie Jenifer Haupt from I make Beauiful and my beloved Bryan from Music and More, this was the top of the Dinosaur charts ! Their theme was actually Jurassic Park and everyone dressed up to play the part. Usually we all wear black to try and blend into the background, but at this wedding I was wearing the bright yellow rain coat like The guy in the movie. The wedding was featured in the Real weddings magazine. I have been wanting to blog it forever and now seems to be the best time !
Three cheers to this Brillant ( yes they both have PHD’s ) couple and their BEAUTIFUL wedding at the Crocker Art Museum. I was thrilled to be chosen to shoot Cynthia and Andrew’s wedding especially when I heard the one and only Kate Whelan Events would be their event designer. And one of my favorite Masters of Ceremony S.J’s DJ would be running the show and Rev. Tan ( I am a fan ) rocking the ceremony. All fabulous things. But wait, don’t order yet as we had my beloved Lea from BGorgeous doing the hair and make-up and the talented Melissa designing her flowers. Winning. This couple was pure delight from the get go, I loved how they were so relaxed and easy going throughout the entire day. And I loved how the bride texted me the next day and told me I was a badass. Mama likes indeed.
I have been searching for the right words to describe my joy regarding Allison and Scott’s wedding for some time. It will be hard to express my true love ( yes, cheesy plug inserted there ) for this wedding but I shall try. First off I have known Allison for many years, and her mom, Lora Ward and I go way way back. Lora Ward from A Day to Remember, is one of the most seasoned well known wedding planners in the area, and so for her daughter to have chosen me, out of ALL of the photographers they have worked with over the years was most flattering. And to add even more goodness into the mix, the wedding was held at my studio. Well not in my studio, but downstairs at Antiquities or “Tara” as I call it. The wedding was small and intimate and the details were FABULOUS ! So many of Lora’s peeps brought the heat, with the talented Kendra Pfeiffer at the coordinating wheel, Jennifer Gilchrist making the bride and gals oh so glamours, Jackson Catering making amazing food, Sarah from Cuttings making the event beautiful with her floral designs, my beloved Doug and Dara from Music on the Move rocking tunes and mastering the reception fun, and Mike Jensen capturing the magic on video. But with all of the beauty and well planned events, what touched my heart most was this couple. Allison is truly one of the most amazing gals on earth, she was the worlds best bride. And her very handsome husband was one of the most sincere stand up guys. I LOVED THEM SO MUCH. An amazing time was had by all. Life is indeed very very good.
Yay for the blogging of Jen and Ken !! Right out of the gate just their names together are pretty cute. They had cuteness as well as many other attributes in spades. Their outdoor ceremony at Capital Park took my breath away when during the ceremony I looked at the back of my camera and saw a wide shot with our stunning capital in the background. As you can see getting those heartfelt expressions is my main passion at any wedding, and while editing this wedding I was giving 5 star rating after 5 star rating. Jen and Ken had the whole ‘officer of the law’ thing going as well as just a general peaceful easy feeling that made everyone relax and have the best time ever. After the ceremony it was over to the Historic Masonic Temple where we were treated to the good energy and D.J stylings of one Matt from Extreme Pro D.J’s. I could write a short novel about how much I LOVE Extreme Pro D.J’s ! And she was also smart enough to score Visual Impact as her florist. They nail it every time. Ahhhh less words and more photos right !
