I did not want to waste ANY time in getting to part two of this double ceremony wedding. Part two was at The Crocker Art Museum ( a.k.a any photographers dream location ). After the Sikh ceremony we had a quick break and then it was onto the beautiful classic Jewish ceremony. The love between these two is so apparent for all to see. My favorite part of any wedding day is capturing the joy on the faces of the couple as well as their friends and family. Again my treasured Aimee Wendal from 2CHIC Events and Design truly pulled this 2 ceremony wedding day together like a boss. Together with one of my favorite folks, Bryan from Music and More and our darling florist Accents by Sage, this event was a slam dunk. And of course the folks at The Crocker ROCK. One more thanks to J&B for letting me be a part of this wonderful occasion.
Again mondo thanks to my friends P.J and Sarah T. for shooting this wedding with me, together we were a well oiled machine.
Fun Fact: The groom had a twin brother that was so identical, it was often hard to keep tell them apart. But I only got them confused once : )
O.K maybe not the worlds longest blog post, but a long one for sure. This was a gem of a wedding from last year, and yes I do ‘gotta bring up old stuff’ now and again. This was a last minute booking that I was thrilled to get. This couple had a marathon wedding day all planned by the one and only Aimee Wendle of 2Chic Events. Aimee is my home-slice and a gifted planner and designer.
The first part of the day was a beautiful Sikh ceremony at The Sikh Temple of Sacramento. I learned so many interesting things about the Sikh culture and truly enjoyed this unique ceremony. If it seems like I am not even mentioning this fabulous couple it is because they really value their privacy. So we will call them J&B : ). I LOVED J&B and am forever grateful they choose me to be a part of their whirlwind day. This was ceremony #1, stay tuned for ceremony # 2, a classic Jewish Ceremony at The Crocker Art Museum. So much culture, love and beauty in just a short 14 hour day : )
Please insert one MILLION thanks to my beloved Sarah Maren for coming to shoot this ceremony with me ON HER ANNIVERSARY. For this big gig, I got by with a BIG help from my friends.
A flash back to this summer, this wedding truly warms my heart. Rachel and Chris were two of the NICEST kindest, most loving people I have ever met. They were soul mates who had their perfect day at Arden Hills Country Club. I LOVED this wedding with every fiber of my being. With my great friends Jenifer Haupt from I make Beautiful making the bride beautiful and Shannon from Flourish making her stunning floral designs, this event was pure beauty, sunshine, love and light. And my friends out did themselves with the cake, Rebecca and Hector from Sweet Cakes by Rebecca sweetened up the place big time. I always look forward to working at Arden Hills, the staff, food, and service are top notch. They have it down and that makes for a wonderful and relaxed day. Again, less talk more photos right : )
Oh how I LOVE her bright and bouncy flowers, played Flourish : )
Arden Hills has so many great locations to get these bold dramatic shots, I love it there.
I adore everything about this photo, colors, the expression, it is true love all the way.
Giving some well received advise on a happy marriage : )
Please note their expressions, priceless.
Dig the detail of that cake right ? It is work of art !
Sheila ‘Parm’ and Justin had such a beautiful wedding. Really it was the dream wedding all around at their David Girard Wedding this fall. Beautiful lighting, colors, a breath taking venue, packed with loved ones cheering them on, I mean who could ask for anything more ? Their D.J, Ricky O’Neal was so talented on the turn table, their party truly ROCKED. This couple had it all, and they were both so sweet and easy going, it was a pleasure to be a part of their blessed union. Many thanks to Fransico ‘ Ricardo Girado ‘ and Nicole ‘ She Devil ‘ for all their help making this day fantastic. And yes…everyone DOES usually get some sort of nickname eventually. And one more HUGE shout out to my peep at Beth Sogaard Catering, man alive do these folks do a great job. LOVE THEM !
This was my last wedding of the year and by golly was it a beauty ! Jillian and Ilyan were so stylish, full of life and deeply in love. A blind man could see how much they adored each other and how happy they were to have found each other. Well I was sure elated to be the one shooting their wedding at one my favorite haunts , The Citizen Hotel. One of the things that touched me the most was how this couple had so many loved ones bursting with joy to share their big day. These two lived out of town so folks flew in from all over the United States and many parts of the world for this union.
I was also happy to have two of my favorite vendors there, Visual Impact and Encore Entertainment. It was the best way to end the 2012 wedding season with a big ol WOOOO HOOOO. Thanks again to my lovely and talented second shooter Michelle, I am so blessed to have you working by my side to create beautiful photos !
I have LITERALLY been waiting to blog about this couple for YEARS ! REALLY ! I will try not get too mushy here, but I need you to know my LOVE for this couple runs DEEP.
My first memory of them was …love in an elevator. I was heading up in the Citizen Hotel elevator, when Joaquin and Heather introduced themselves. They told me I had done a few of their friends weddings and soon enough I would be doing their wedding. Naturally I was VERY flattered. And indeed I was the lucky photographer to capture their unique love story. They were married at St. Ignatius Church and had their reception at The Sacramento Grand Ballroom. Positively fabulous food from our friends at The Supper Club, and a truly delicious dessert buffet from Ettores ( I can still remember how much we enjoyed those treats ). It was oddly an overcast day in Aug, but not to worry, we worked it out like nobodies business with some unique fun and funky photos.
I was so touched by this couples love for each other and kindness towards everyone else…I am getting a bit misty so here are the photos, talk amongst yourselves.
Yeah, note, this couple was ” sort of a big deal ” with their large amount of higher up clergy : )
FUN FACT : They are both quite the musicians, and sang to EACH OTHER during the ceremony. Not a dry eye in the house people !
Think pink people. I have been jonesin to post these vibrant, happy happy joy joy and oh so PINK and colorful photos of Chonnie and Janoah ( Cha-no no and Ja no-no if you were needing their nicknames any time soon ). This wedding was a slam dunk with all its ‘bling bling’, loads of happy people and a couple MADLY in love with each other. I LOVED working with Joe from Extreme Productions, the sunset and view at Serrano Country Club, and of course this fun, vivacious and full of life couple. And yes… the DID have a bridal party of 20 people. The more the merrier for Chojo ( great celebrity name mash up right ). Please to drink the pink folks :
I love these behind the scenes shot my treasured second shooter get, go Michelle’s bells !
Serranno Country Club sure has a lot of great backdrops, we were in photographers heaven !
One of my favorite photos of all time : )
FUN FACT: Chonnie is a wrapper and did a full on song to her husband at their reception. It brought down the house : )
If you did not get enough, here is a link to their slideshow, just click HERE
Now if you get that title you are a true retro gamer ! The promise of receiving cake is a super retro game referance and was the theme of Stephanie and Jerred’s cake. Man alive did they have some cute details at their Monte Verde Inn wedding. I LOVED this couple ! So fun and vibrant, creative and original and in love ! I remember when they met with me oh so long ago they told me they could not imagine another photographer shooting their wedding. Yes, folks by all means flatter away. Since I have the taste of 12 year old girl ( and sometimes a 14 year old boy ) I was in heaven with their retro gamer theme and unique details. This couple just exuded such genuine love, orginality and zest for life. The Monte Verde Inn really delivered giving them their perfect day. Those folks sure do a great job !
Please enjoy a taste of the fun :
Truly the most creative invitations I have ever seen. My super cute boyfriend Brad Haynes, who is an avid retro gamer, was goo-goo ga ga over these invitations and demanded he received one for his collection.
Stephanie is a budding model so she was just the ideal subject !
I am so smitten by this photo.
Did I mention how fun this couple was ?
Awesome shot from my second shooter Sarah Beth, great job !
Deeply in love with this photo, we are making plans for a life together as we speak.
O.K you got to the end of my overly long blog post, now enjoy your cake !
Sarah and Jack were such a class act ! Everything about this couple was lovely. So sincere and kind and their families were just amazing. I was so honored to be their wedding photographer at our very own photographers dream location, the Crocker Art Museum. Some of my favorite people helped to make the day perfect including one of my all time favorite make-up artists Shana Beals Make-up Artistry . Also in the mix, the talented and creative Vicki from Bella Blooms, super fun Tom Fretwell from Fretty’s D.j and culinary delights from The Supper club. Yes I could gush for a few more lines, but again I know you are not checking out my blog to languish in my literary talents.
I love her soft make-up from my pal Shana Beals.
WOW, what a beautiful place for a ceremony right. Just stunning.
And Nicole and Patrick waited to find it ! They were the sweetest, most kind and generous couple ever. I felt an instant connection the moment I met them. Truly a match made in heaven, their shared faith really touched my heart. They were wed on a beautiful day with breath taking views at our very own Helwig Winery. They had gorgeous flowers from Flourish and Fantastic food by Bocca, one delish cake by
Pretty Sweet and just the perfect amount of lighting by Extreme Productions. The sentiment, the blue skys, the amazing wine cave, top notch service from Katherine and her team at Helwig, a couple madly in love, just
crazy amounts of Awesomeness everywhere on this so very blessed day ( I am surprised awesomeness is a word and I spelled it right on the first go ? ).
Man alive was Nicole a great model, looking so very stunning on her big day !
I LOVE this shot my second shooter, Michelle got of Nicole and her dad walking down the wine cave, Go SHIFTY !
Of course I always love these ‘ moment of truth ‘ shots.
photos with heart and soul
