A Sacramento Native, I have been blessed to have made a living as a full time professional photographer for over 20 years. Since my very humble beginnings I have photographed at least 1.3 trillion ( o.k more like 500 ) weddings and have loved shooting for Sacramento Magazine for over 10 years.
Man Alive have I come a long way from when I started as a traveling portrait photographer, going to stores like Rite Aid and setting up in the grocery cart isle. I worked my beach background like nobodies business back then. From there I did just about every job possible in the photography world, from taking 200 9th graders photos to glamour shots to working at a one hour photos. Alas I started True Love Photo 10 years ago and have been amazed at my many blessings. Luckily I LOVE what I do because it is truly the only thing I am great at. What I love most is capturing moments and joking around. I also adore my Kitty cat, super cute boyfriend, friends and family and all manor of white flour and sugar combinations. If we are able to work together I vow to put my heart and soul into your special day.
My love for coffee runs DEEP, I refer to as ‘my black love’.
I am a terrible cook, my boyfriend refers to the meal I try and make as ‘ one of your concoctions ‘
I am borderline obsessed with recycling to the point of buying my friends who do not recycle special bins and guilt tripping them to recycle.
It really bugs me when people talk on their phones loud in target.
In my youth I entered lip-syncing contests dressed as Madonna, I did a mean ‘ burning up for your love’ and made it to the finals, yes…I DID roll around on the ground.
My favorite part of any wedding ceremony is during the vows, photographing the expressions on the bride and grooms face is such a gift.
My boyfriend and I have a secret handshake.
I cry every time I watch the original Willie Wonka and the chocolate factory.
If you are my friend, chances are I have called you singing a song to you, favorite ‘ hello is it me you’re waiting for’.
I have a perhaps un-healthy love of rugs, am an Oprah super fan, and LOVE parking in my garage and all manor of biographies. Also I LOVE the wind.
I am queen of giving people nicknames, at first they may resist, but it is futile, in not time they embrace their nickname and are signing it at the end of their message.
My real name is Mary, but I did not know that until I was called to the office in 3rd grade, they asked my what my middle name was and I guessed ‘Ann’? (Full name Mary Elizabeth it turned out).
I am a big equal rights person and think we should all have the same rights to get married.
I am madly in love with Sacramento, a native Sacramentian; I feel I could be the spokes model and can go on and on about how great Sacramento is.
I went to school to become a radio D.J, but when it came right down to it, I froze up on the air.
I have always loved cats and think they are the most delightful and beautiful creatures.
I love all types of music, from the sound track to the movie ‘the sound of music’ to hard core rap and old school disco, listening to my ipod would really make someone question what kind of person would like such a range of music.
I LOVE laying on one (yes I have two) of my hammocks and chilling out.
Gratitude is sort of my thing, I cannot believe my good fortune and feel VERY blessed in this life
One of my friends once described me as not a ‘beige’ kind of girl, that was one of my favorite descriptions of myself.
