Beautiful hot fashion models and cake, come on ! Now that is a winning combination. FUN FACT: this shoot is on ROCK AND ROLL BRIDE BLOG TODAY !!!
No words can express how grateful I felt to be involved with such an amazing and talented group of girls while photographing our super fun ‘ Let them eat cake’ Marie Antoinette inspired fashion shoot ( aka Put a bird on it )
Where to begin ? The queen of make-up, Sherri Morris from Brushworx Make-up Artistry had the concept, she got one of the most talented and creative stylists, Dacy Mc Whorter on board and we were off and running. Add my beloved hair lady Tina Romo and of course I wanted my treasured Shannon from Fancy Pants weddings blog and Flourish to do the flowers. I could not believe it when Rebecca from Sweet Cakes by Rebecca said she would make us some cakes, and man alive did she make us some cakes, she did about 100 times more than I ever expected. And we would have been no where without the Miosa dresses, Jewelry by Tabaybei. HUGE shout out to Crystal Cunagin for getting us the best location possible at the last minute and Deborah Baron letting us use her house. Did I leave anyone out ? YES !!! THE HOT FASHION MODELS from Cast Images , Amanda Price, Lauren Dimarco, and the world famous Ellen Hancock. WE sooooooooooo appreciated having such beautiful and talented girls.
We had a lot more help from other folks to pull of this super cool shoot. Man alive mama soooo likes:
Annie did such a great job on two of the girls make-up, she flew in from L.A to help out !
MONDO thanks to Crystal for scoring us the perfect location, we had planned on another spot but were not able to shoot there due to the rain.
Cool hair piece made by none other that our own creative gem Shannon of Fancy Pants weddings blog and Flourish
KELLY AND JASON, lets just say when they were on their honeymoon I actually found myself hoping they would make a honeymoon baby just so I could photograph them again SOON. Talk about your dream subjects ! These two were FABULOUS SUBJECTS ! LOVED THEM !! Their whole day was a huge love feast, their friends, family and loved ones were all such a joy to work with. During their toast I thought to myself ‘ these are the kind of people I want in my life forever’. Truly a remarkable couple in so many ways, so happy and in love. Their wedding was indeed a blessed day at the Vizcaya ! Add in my dear friend and AWESOME PHOTOGRAPHER Thais shooting with me, Jennifer Haupt making them even better looking, the ever talented Shannon from Flourish designing their flowers AND Encore Entertainment providing them with a photo booth and rad lighting, and it was AS GOOD AS IT GETS !
Kelly wanted A LOT of ring shots !
Kelly could work a zoo lander look like nobodies business. We could not get enough of her !
Man alive do I LOVE this photo ! See what I mean about these two, they worked it liked CRAZY !
Huge FAN of this photo !
Copying myself : )
FUN FACT: Jason installs alarms. When he went to Kelly’s work to install an alarm, he made sure he fiddled with the alarm system so he had a reason to come back and see her again. The rest is history !
Yikes, I still have weddings to blog from 2010 ? Who does that ? Me I guess. This wedding was a gem I tell you, so it needed some time in the sun. There was in fact NO sun for Megan and John’s nov. wedding, but no worries, we worked it out like nobodies bees wax. If you look up ‘ soul mates’ in the dictionary, there is a photo of Megan and John. Loving these two is EASY cause they are positively one of the most terrific couples on earth. Their wedding at North Ridge Country Club ruled ! They had their Ketubha signing followed by a ceremony under the Chuppah with so many beautiful moments. Much love and joy filled their special night. And much joy came from the fact that my bff Sarah Maren ( yes, you heard it right ) shot the wedding with me. Lucky !!!
This was the credo of their favorite soccer team, you will NEVER walk alone ! True DAT !
I dig the little spider web inside the flower : )
One of my all time favorite photos EVERRRRRRRR
Love this shot by none other than Sarah Maren Whitehead.
Not really, because Andy is a fictional character, but the DID both go to Cornell. That is how Jim and Lenora found each other in fact, a Cornell alumni re-union. Jim took one look at her and knew she was something special. I would have to concur ! She is a doctor as well as a dream subject ! These two are made for each other so taking their photos at the Crocker Art Museum no less was a photographers dream job.
They are getting married at the Crocker Art Museum this October, and just when you think it could not get ANY better…. they have the super talented Aime Wendal of 2 Chic Events and Designs as their planner/designer . DRIPPING IN AWESOME SAUSE RIGHT ?
A MONDO thanks to Cindy and Kathleen at the Crocker for letting us shoot in their MAGNIFECNT museum. It was dreamy !
AGAIN, sooooo fortunate to shoot in such a cool spot ! A BIG thanks to the folks at the Crocker Art Museum.
Now THAT is happy people !
My dear friend and fellow photographer Thais Shiediman ( aka Thai-bo ) told me this was one of her all time favorites, now that is indeed a compliment !
Jim and Lenora told me they are more on the conservative side, but I had to add just the slightest bit of funk to the mix. Lenora’s toes just looked SO cute !
I personally would have this one the save the date photo : )
INCREDIBLY FUN FACT: I shot took some modeling portfolio shots of Jim many years ago. Yes he DEFIANTLY had the hot fashion model thing going, but Lenora really held her own during the session.
WENDY AND CARRIE ARE ON ‘ SO YOUR enGAYged ‘ blog TODAY. And, well every other Gay blog out there. Not knowing the ways of the blog I submitted it to every gay blog and it was accepted by…every one. My poor ladies having to fill out oh so many questionnaires ( sorry ).
Where to begin to speak of Wendy and Carrie ? Their love for each other and their family touched my soul. The fact that they are not given equal rights breaks my heart. But these two were not about wallowing in the in-justice, they were about celebrating their love for each other with all of their family and friends.
The dream team was the house ! Lora Ward from A Day to Remember planned the wedding like nobodies business, Matt from Extreme Pro D.J’s made the party Extremely awesome and Carissa from Sugar and Spice Speciality Desserts kept everyone in a delicious sugar high. The wedding was at the Citizen Hotel so we had an abundance of amazing places to shoot. Truly a memorable event !
I brought along my own dream team Andrea and Shannon to help me with this special day. Two brides need a lot of coverage people, I am so very thankful for my friends help !!!!
We were all so touched by the way Wendy and Carrie insisted we eat with their guests, we had the most delicious meal that we were talking about several days later. That is just how these ladies roll, a class act !
Awesome expressions ( my favorite part of any wedding ) were abundant on this special day.
I heart shooting at the Citizen Hotel sooooooooo much. Man alive are there loads of great spots.
Wendy walking their children down the isle, priceless !
Photographers LOVE up-lighting !
Of course as the photographer I was required to eat each of these treats after photographing them…. I was just doing my job people.
This photo was on MSMBC !
FUN FACT: Wendy is ‘ sort of a big deal’ in the gay community as an advocate for equal rights. I told these ladies when they are granted the right to marry like everyone else I will be there shooting their legal marriage as well.
photos with heart and soul
